Seven innovative health projects are participating in the HEALTH Accelerator
Now in its fifth year, the program aims to facilitate the development and market access of new initiatives in the health sector.
Seven innovative projects in the healthcare sector are participating in the HEALTH Accelerator, a program supported by the Department of Universities, Innovation, and Digital Transformation, which is now in its fifth year.
Agurtzane Martínez, Director General of Innovation, participated in this afternoon’s session, where she learned in detail about the initiatives, which involve 11 male entrepreneurs and five female entrepreneurs.
The ultimate goal of this accelerator is to turn unique and innovative ideas into successful businesses, leveraging CEIN’s knowledge and experience to facilitate their development and market entry. In addition, the participating project with the greatest potential, most innovative approach, and scalability will receive a prize of 8,000 euros at the demo day event.
This year, the HEALTH Accelerator HEALTH organized into different modules. The first module focused on inspiration and included thematic sessions designed to spark innovation and highlight current trends in the healthcare sector. The second module focused on a guided exploration of the idea’s entrepreneurial potential, and the third on consolidating the business model and developing the business strategy. In addition, participating initiatives received mentoring and specialized advice throughout the process.
The first event on the program was a masterclass titled “The European Health Data Space: Implications and Opportunities,” featuring leading experts such as Pedro Lisbona, Business Development in Digital Health Evidenze); Dr. Ignacio Revuelta, of Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and president of the Carlos III Health Institute; and Javier Gómez-Arrue, director of Navarrabiomed.
On November 21, the online masterclass “Smart Hospital” will take place, featuring Óscar Día (partner at Antares Consulting), Frederic Llordachs (physician, digital entrepreneur, and holder of an MBA in Health & Marketing from ESADE), and Arantxa González de Heredia (professor and researcher at the University of Mondragón).
