The Navarran startups Zaindari and Tairel Data are the first to set up shop at Hirugarrena, a space dedicated to scientific, technological, and digital entrepreneurship promoted by the Government of Navarre’s Department of Industry and Ecological and Digital Business Transition, the Public University of Navarre (UPNA), and the public entity European Business and Innovation Center of Navarre (CEIN).

The establishment of these two startups was recently finalized with the signing of the respective entry agreements by Ramón Gonzalo, president of UPNA, and Uxue Itoiz, managing director of CEIN, on the one hand, and Xabier Leonardo, CEO of Zaindari, and Raúl Domínguez, CEO of Tairel Data, on behalf of the two companies.

In addition, Mikel Irujo, Minister of Industry and Ecological and Digital Business Transition, was present at the signing ceremony, as the Government of Navarre is also involved in the approval process for companies setting up operations in Hirugarrena.

Zaindari has developed a parental control tool based on network traffic analysis that Internet service providers (ISPs) can market, adding value to their services. This company, which emerged from the UPNA, will occupy the largest office at Hirugarrena, which has space for 12 workstations. Meanwhile, Tairel Data, a UPNA spin-off specializing in solutions based on artificial intelligence and other advanced data processing techniques, will be located in an office with four workstations.

These two startups are the first to move into this space following the completion of their admission process. In just one month, a dozen applications have already been received from startups looking to take advantage of Hirugarrena’s entrepreneurial support services and workspaces. The remaining applications will be processed shortly.

Anyone wishing to apply for access—whether to the coworking space or one of the available offices—can do so through the CEIN website. To be eligible for these services, applicants must meet certain requirements, such as being an innovative company with growth potential, among others.

Promoting technological and innovative entrepreneurship

Hirugarrena, which opened a month ago, offers 1,280 square meters of usable space and more than 60 workstations distributed across a large coworking area and five offices for startups and early-stage projects in science, technology, and digitalization that require pre-incubation.

This facility also offers specialized services and programs designed to foster technological and innovative entrepreneurship and support the creation and growth of digital and technology startups, targeting entrepreneurs, startups, and the university community.

The creation of Hirugarrena is part of the Tech FabLab project, in which the Government of Navarre is a partner alongside La Rioja, Aragon, Cantabria, Catalonia, and the Valencian Community. This project is part of the RETECH “Digital Entrepreneurship Networks” call for proposals, funded by the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration through Next Generation EU funds.
