Iñaki Azcona worked as a freelance scientific consultant for various companies, but he had always wanted to start his own business. Last year, the AGROFOODtech Accelerator helped him acquire the necessary knowledge and develop the business model for what is now MicroNeoX.

This startup, which recently moved into the Innovation Incubator, develops, produces, and markets biofertilizers based on microorganisms. Specifically, it focuses on mycorrhizae—“very special fungi that are crucial to the development of agriculture, a sector that is facing many challenges and needs tools and companies to help it,” as its founder explains.

Iñaki explains that, by setting up at the incubator, “I have access to a shared lab, which will be very helpful to me in these early stages. And, with their support and resources, I hope to scale up and emerge as a well-established company with potential and much greater experience.”
