The Importance of Cost-Benefit Analysis in the Healthcare Sector

On May 22, at our headquarters in Noáin, we will host a workshop focusing on the importance of cost-benefit analysis in the healthcare sector, to help participants understand how to demonstrate the economic value of their solutions for positioning, financing, and negotiating with licensees.
The agenda for the session, which is part of our Health program for startups in the healthcare sector, is as follows.
10:30 a.m. PRESENTATION. Practical applications of economic evaluation in healthcare.

The presentation will cover the fundamentals and methodologies of economic evaluation (CBA, CEA, CUA; ICER, QALYs, DALYs), the key elements of the analysis (costs, outcomes, modeling), and their influence on reimbursement and adoption decisions made by HTA agencies, hospitals, and insurers. It will also provide practical guidelines on when to integrate these analyses into product development and how to use them to attract investment and close business deals.
11:45 a.m. Interactive Roundtable Discussion
Drawing on the experiences of successful startups, the discussion will focus on barriers to adoption, strategies for demonstrating clinical and economic value, and experiences with hospitals, payers, and the industry, with the aim of identifying specific tactics for market positioning and access.
