The Ministry of Industry and CEIN are hosting a conference to connect innovative startups with leading agribusinesses focused on new ingredients
Nine companies operating in CEIN's innovation incubators have shared their work and agri-food solutions with 10 leading companies in the sector
The Department of Industry and Ecological and Digital Business Transition of the Government of Navarre and the public entity European Center for Business and Innovation of Navarre (CEIN) held the CEIN “Ingredients Summit” this morning, an event that brought together innovative startups and leading companies in the agribusiness sector with the aim of showcasing their work and fostering synergies between them. In total, ten leading and well-established companies in this sector and nine startups participated.
The session began with presentations by representatives from Congelados de Navarra, El Navarrico, Elaborados Naturales de la Ribera, Grupo AN, Grupo Apex, Grupo Enhol, Grupo Alimentario IAN, Lacturale, Martiko, and Ultracongelados Virto, who also discussed some of the current challenges facing their organizations.
This was followed by a roundtable discussion on trends in new ingredients, featuring Silvia García (director of the CNTA’s Eatex Food Innovation Hub), Santiago Sala (CEO of the Apex Group), Sandra Aguirre (manager of the Nagrifood agri-food cluster), and Beatriz Romanos, an expert on trends in the agri-food sector.
At the roundtable, startups from CEIN’s innovation incubators—Genbioma, Ingredalia, MOA Foodtech, Molitor, Nucaps, Thodo, and Truffino—detailed their work on new ingredients, while Nulab and Uraphex explained their solutions for optimizing industrial processes in the agricultural sector.
The day concluded with bilateral meetings between the startups and the leading companies, with the aim of exploring potential collaborations.
CEIN's incubators are home to cutting-edge biotechnology and agri-food startups that develop new ingredients such as alternative proteins and bioactive compounds. These products, in addition to representing technological innovations in their own right, can open up strategic opportunities for large companies in the agri-food sector operating in our region.
This activity is part of the services that CEIN provides as part of Agrofood , a program designed to help Navarran startups and scaleups operating in the agribusiness industry grow.
