Challenge 17. “Development of proprietary fertilizers and organic materials for internal use and commercialization”

JOSENEA BIO operates in an environment where the efficient use of resources, sustainable farming, and year-round profitability are particularly important. Its business model already incorporates a circular economy approach and the recovery of value from organic resources, as well as biodynamic practices and composting, which presents a clear opportunity to develop proprietary solutions with greater added value.

In this context, the challenge lies in designing and optimizing a process for producing fertilizers, compost, or other organic materials that , on the one hand, meets internal crop production needs and, on the other, yields a final product suitable for commercialization. The goal is not merely to produce a useful fertilizer, but to do so in accordance with standards of quality, stability, scalability, and regulatory compliance, so that it can become a new complementary line of business.

Currently, this area presents several challenges:

  • Ensure a technically sound process.

  • To produce a uniform crop that is suitable for agricultural use.

  • Ensure that your application is useful both for your own use and for third parties.

  • Take into account the regulatory requirements associated with this type of product.

All of this is also aimed at boosting agricultural production throughout the year and creating new business opportunities based on agronomic expertise and the efficient use of resources.

The main focus is on identifying innovative solutions that will enable the structuring of the entire process, from the development of the material and its validation through to its potential market launch.

In particular, we will prioritize solutions that are capable of:

  • Design and optimize processes for producing organic fertilizers or compost.

  • Improve the quality, stability, and consistency of the final product.

  • Identify valuable applications for internal use in the field.

  • Identify ways to commercialize the product.

  • Incorporate standards, regulatory requirements, and certification criteria.

  • Analyze the technical, operational, and economic feasibility of the solution.

  • Turn a byproduct or internal resource into a real business opportunity.

The goal is to move toward a solution that will enable JOSENEA BIO to strengthen its circular business model, improve farm productivity, and explore a new product line aligned with its eco-friendly and sustainable positioning.

Expected benefits

Implementing a solution in this area would enable Josenea Bio to make an impact in several key areas:

  • Better use of resources: recycling organic materials within a circular economy framework

  • Improving farm profitability: developing solutions that are useful year-round and reducing reliance on external sources

  • New product development: the potential to create a complementary product line aligned with the core business

  • Strengthening sustainable positioning: consolidating the company's ecological and circular model

  • Agricultural improvement: availability of inputs tailored to the actual needs of the crop

  • Business diversification: opening up new market opportunities based on our own expertise

What are they looking for in a collaborator?

JOSENEA BIO is looking for partners who can provide practical, realistic solutions and who possess technical expertise in the fields of agronomy, biology, or organic matter recovery.

The following will be given special consideration:

  • Experience in composting, organic fertilization, or the recycling of organic waste.

  • Knowledge of product regulations and regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to design viable full-scale processes.

  • A product- and market-oriented approach, not just a process-oriented one.

  • A commitment to sustainable, eco-friendly, and circular economy models.

  • Scalable solutions tailored to the company's operational realities.

We are not looking for theoretical or overly complex approaches from the outset, but rather proposals that allow us to validate solutions that are useful, implementable, and have the potential for commercial growth.
