Flores Bosquecillo: The Magic of Reconnecting with Nature (and With Yourself)

After three decades in Barcelona, Karmentxu Buldain experienced something that changed her life: a lockdown surrounded by nature, in the mountains of Huesca. That unexpected break marked the beginning of a profound transformation. “Instead of returning to Barcelona, we decided to move to Pamplona,” she says. And she didn’t just change cities—she changed course as well.

A graphic designer by trade, she continued working online, but something inside her yearned to return to hands-on work, to creativity, to nature. And so, almost by chance, she came across some floristry courses offered by the Navarre Employment Service—Nafar Lansare. She didn’t hesitate. She trained in floral design, plant arrangements, and florist management… until it became clear to her: she wanted her own space.

Flores Bosquecillo opened its doors a year and a half ago in the heart of Pamplona, right across from the park that gives it its name. The space, which used to be an insurance office, is now bursting with life, color, and fragrance.

In addition to a carefully curated selection of flowers and plants, Karmentxu offers unique products: flower-inspired jewelry, flower-shaped chocolates, specialty wines... These distinctive touches surprise first-time visitors and build loyalty among those looking for more than just a bouquet.

And there’s something else that sets it apart: it’s open on Saturdays and Sundays, both morning and afternoon. Because it knows that those are often the times when you really have the time to treat someone—or yourself—to a little beauty.

She is about to launch her online store so that anyone can enjoy her creations from the comfort of their own home. And she is already preparing her Christmas campaign, which promises to be full of inspiration.

Karmentxu participated in the program organized by the Pamplona City Council and CEIN Iruña Ekintzaile | Pamplona Emprende to give her business a fresh start. She describes the experience as “very positive and highly recommended—it allowed her to connect with other entrepreneurs, share concerns, refresh her knowledge, and feel supported.”

A project that shows it's never too late to reinvent yourself and that, sometimes, a single flower can change everything.
