Palobiofarma and Medibiofarma, located in the Innovation Incubator, are relocating their operations to other facilities

In Barcelona in 2006, Julio Castro and Juan Camacho founded Palobiofarma, a company focused primarily on drug discovery.

During the clinical trial phase, back in 2011, they needed significant funding, and Sodena offered them the opportunity to invest in the project, set up operations in Navarra, and also establish a research laboratory. That is how they ended up at the Innovation Incubator in 2012—“a success from the start, because in addition to being able to carry out our work, we found a scientific environment that was better than expected.”

In 2015, they signed a major licensing agreement with Novartis for a lung cancer drug, which marked a radical transformation for the company in every respect. The company expanded, and drawing on their many years of experience, they founded Medibiofarma, which focused on other therapeutic targets.

Today, their time at the Nursery has come to an end, and they have moved their operations to other facilities.

Julio and Juan consider the support they’ve received to be “very important for a company that’s just starting out or new to the area. Besides, you can’t set up a synthetic medicinal chemistry lab just anywhere, but at the incubator, you can focus on your work without complications and with peace of mind. CEIN is exceptional and occupies a unique position.”

We invite you to learn about these companies' history and their experience at the incubator in this video.
