The Health Accelerator, launched by the Department of Higher Education, Innovation, and Digital Transformation and now in its sixth year, has kicked off with 10 startup projects in the health sector.

This program provides specialized training and support to facilitate the development and market access of new, innovative, and distinctive initiatives in the healthcare sector within our region. In addition, the participating project with the greatest potential, most innovative approach, and scalability at the end of the program will receive a prize of 8,000 euros.

Agurtzane Martínez, Director General of Innovation, participated in the kickoff session, during which the projects included in this new edition were presented; these were selected from among the 16 applications received.

The first activity in the program was the masterclass titled “Patient Experience: The Key to Developing Healthcare Products and Services.” This was followed by the Health Academy, which, over the course of three sessions, focused on a guided exploration of the entrepreneurial potential of business ideas in the healthcare sector. A total of 98 people participated in these activities.

The acceleration process itself has now begun, focusing on consolidating the business models of the participating initiatives and developing a business strategy for their market launch. Throughout this process, participants will receive specialized training, mentoring, and guidance.
