CEIN is participating in the Food and Hospitality event alongside 10 agri-food startups from its ecosystem
This event is part of Alimentaria, a trade show now in its 50th year and a global leader in the food and beverage industry.
The public entity Centro Europeo de Empresas e Innovación de Navarra (CEIN) is participating alongside 10 startups from its ecosystem in Food and Hospitality, the startup space located within the international Alimentaria trade show, which is taking place in Barcelona from Monday, March 23, through March 26.
Joining the organization at the booth—funded by the Government of Navarra’s Department of Industry and Ecological and Digital Business Transition—are Allbiotech, Bgourmet Cozy Taste, Bread Free, Fruit & Food Products, Genbioma, Navarre Spirits, Nucaps, and Nulab. The companies Ingredalia and Uraphex are also participating in the fair with their own booths. All of these are companies operating in various sectors related to the agri-food industry that are currently active or have previously been active in CEIN’s Innovation Incubators, located in both Noáin and Tudela.
Alimentaria is one of the largest events in the food and beverage industry; this year marks its 50th edition, bringing together the sector’s leading international players. The trade show spans over 100,000 square meters and features 3,300 companies from 70 different countries. More than 110,000 visitors, buyers, and investors are expected to attend.
Within this framework, participating companies will have the opportunity to showcase their products and present their solutions to a specialized audience. They will also be able to attend expert presentations and establish contacts and synergies with leading companies and industry players.
CEIN’s managing director, Uxue Itoiz, highlighted how the organization “is driving the agri-food sector through the CEIN AGROFOOD program, which provides specific services to help launch new businesses and support the growth of agri-tech startups, and this forum is an excellent platform for building connections and partnerships that can further strengthen these efforts.”
Specifically, a new call for applications is currently open for the Agrofood Accelerator, which will provide up to 20 ideas, projects, or research initiatives in the agri-food sector with expert training and support to help them become businesses and develop a viable business model.
The CEIN AGROFOOD program AGROFOOD helps Navarran startups already operating in the sector scale up their operations by participating in high-impact events and designing and implementing strategic support measures tailored to their needs.
It is also worth noting that 18 companies in CEIN’s Innovation Incubators are currently active in the agri-food sector, accounting for one-third of the total.
Representatives from the Navarran sector
In addition to startups from the CEIN ecosystem, Alimentaria also features a large contingent from Navarre’s agri-food sector. Part of this contingent is grouped at the Intia-Reyno Gourmet institutional booth, which hosts some twenty companies from Navarre, including Harivena, Artajo Oils, Antonio Anaut, ANKO Artisan Canned Goods, Ekolo, Camporel, El Navarrico preserves, Grupo Pirinea, Dantza preserves, Ría preserves, Pedro Luis, Trevijano, Postres Ulzama, J. Vela preserves, Galipienzo, Martiko, Almameat, Dorrea, and Goshua, creating a space that showcases the breadth and quality of the region’s agri-food sector.
In addition, Navarre’s presence is further expanded by some thirty other companies that are attending with their own exhibition spaces, including firms such as the Apex Group, Conservas Medrano, Congelados de Navarra, Aceites Sandua, Cárnicas Iruña, Cárnicas Galar, the Uvesa Group, Urzante Oils, Artisan Olives and Pickles of Navarra, La Vasco Navarra Cheeses, Agotzaina, Jorge Bujanda Canned Foods, MCA Canning, and Global Food Link, helping to present a comprehensive and representative picture of the agri-food sector in the region.
Finally, a group of organic food companies is participating under the auspices of the Navarre Council for Organic Agricultural Production (CPAEN), including Ferment Art, Viñedos y Bodegas Alconde, and Panadería Arrasate.
